Thai Herb Stories is a 100% natural essential oil brand from Thailand. The brand owner is a Japanese who married with Thai & fellow producers are 20+ Japanese women- this is a great collaboration between Thailand & Japan.
Our concept is 1. Natural 100% essential oils, 2. All made in Thailand, 3. Using at least 1 kind of Thai herb in every product.
By this method, we will be able to contribute to Thai Society, particularly Thai herb farmers. We will develop the brand globally from Thailand.
Thai Herb Stories is a winner of 2024 Beauty Shortlist Wellbeing Award EDITOR’s CHOICE.
We were nominated from 2024 New Luxury Awards Scented Space.
In 2025, We were awarded Beauty Shortlist Awards “Winner” by Best Handbag Essential for Winter.

Who We Are
The brand was founded by the Japanese brand owner Nana Tanaka with the assistance from 28 Japanese women around the world. We are natural aroma oil enthusiasts as from diverse backgrounds.
Our Journey
2008 April : Nana was married to her Thai husband and relocated to Thailand
2023 February : Nana decided to establish her own aroma brand after her financial career as a global banker for 20 years.
2023 April : Fellow supporters remotely joined the team from Japan, Thailand, Singapore, UK, and US. They are aromatherapists, writers, photographers, entrepreneurs, video creators, lecturers, pharmacists, and health/beauty industry experts.
2023 June : The brand “Thai Herb Stories” was established.
2023 September : The products were launched in Thailand.
2023 November : Launch in Japan by Amazon Japan and expand globally
2024 March: Selected as a winner of Beauty Shortlist Wellbeing Award “Editior’s Choice”
2024 May: Participated at ICONCRAFT, 4th floor of ICONSIAM, Bangkok, Thailand
2024 June: A shop opened at Gaysorn Amarin, the new, luxury landmark in Bangkok, Thailand

We are dedicated to crafting sustainable aroma products that promote women’s well-being. The strong connection between scent and emotion is widely recognized, particularly in women.
Nana’s lifelong passion for natural aromas drives her to use plant-based essential oils for their detoxifying and energizing properties. Living in Thailand, she is also committed to supporting local farmers and society.”
Moreover, Nana’s mission includes a deep dedication to supporting and motivating women, particularly during challenging phases of their lives. Having engaged with many women as a lifestyle blogger, she has learned of their diverse experiences. This has solidified her belief in the empowering nature of self-care, and inspired her to produce items which aid in female wellness.
Those who support Nana are equally passionate about this mission. We strive to use scent to promote women’s well-being. Our core audience is women in the 30-50 age range.

Our Value
Our commitment to quality means our products consist solely of 100% natural essential oils, with no added chemicals, artificial ingredients, or colorings. The Thai herbs we use, such as Lemongrass, Ginger, Plai, Pomelo, Palmarosa, and Kaffir Lime Fruit, are cultivated by four local farming communities in accordance with international organic standards. We employ steam distillation to extract our essential oils.

In January 2024, Thai Herb Stories members visited a local Thai herb farmer community. We studied how the herbs are grown and how essential oils are made. This was to gain a better understanding of where our products originate.


We were deeply impressed by the completely natural and organic herbs before us—a total of seven varieties: Palmarosa, Lemongrass, Lemon Basil, Citronella, Patchouli, Kaffir Lime, and Ylang Ylang. It was a wonderful experience to understand the herb farmers’ efforts and love for their herbs.









Social Responsibility
Thai Herb Stories visited Fueng-Far Home to donate our products. This nursing home provides care for many children who are either orphans or unable to attend school due to physical challenges. We provided our essential oil products to the teachers for use within the facility, hoping that everyone can enjoy the benefits of natural scents.

Since our establishment in 2023, Thai Herb Stories has been a consistent supporter of Rainbow School, a nursing home in Sankhlaburi, Thailand. Every year, we dedicate a portion of our sales to the school. This commitment to social responsibility has been a high priority for us right from the start, commencing in the very first month after our product launch.









We are proud to have collaborated with Nadeshiko Thailand, a volunteer group, by donating our products to make aroma candles for the Ishikawa Earthquake fundraising campaign. This initiative allows Thai Herb Stories to contribute to relief efforts not only in Thailand but also in Japan, underscoring our strong sense of social responsibility within the industry.


THS Balance Lab

THS Balance Lab, is an internal project of Thai Herb Stories (THS), focusing on research related to pre-menopause and menopause. The team primarily consists of members experiencing menopause themselves, aiming to address their own health concerns while fostering co-creation with THS. The community was launched in October 2023.

Early Days of THS Balance Lab
The “Balance Enthusiasts Club” evolved into a community group and was named “Balance Lab.” It gained support as a platform for sharing experiences where they could feel “not alone.” Members who loved Essential Oil Blend ”Balance”, a supporter of women’s challenging symptoms, continued to join, leading to the current Lab.

Participation in “Fem Plus”
In October 2024, THS Balance Lab participated in “Fem Plus (Femtech Expo & Women’s Wellbeing Promotion Expo)” for the purpose of menopause research. The venue was the Tokyo Big Sight.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Japan METI), the economic loss due to menopause in women is 1.9 trillion yen annually (Source: February 2024, METI). Supporting employees through menopause is increasingly recognized as a key health management issue for companies. In Tokyo and other regions, government support is accelerating, with subsidies and grants being introduced for companies that adopt femtech solutions.
Furthermore, from 2026, menopause-related initiatives will be added to the disclosure items of corporate action plans.

THS Balance Lab’s participation in the Femtech Expo & Women’s Wellbeing Promotion Expo was a very meaningful opportunity to deepen menopause research and broaden understanding of women’s health issues.
The average age of menopause for Japanese women is 50.5 years. USA, UK and Thailand is 51 years. Menopause is generally considered to be the 10-year period between the ages of 46 and 55. Yet, some women may begin experiencing perimenopause symptoms as early as their late 30s. Moreover, these symptoms vary greatly from person to person, reportedly encompassing over 200 different types (according to a menopause seminar at Fem Plus).
This means that it is very important to learn about menopause as early as possible and raise awareness on a daily basis. To lead a life of well-being when menopause fully arrives, such advance preparation is essential.

Insights from Attending the EXPO
Attending this EXPO provided valuable insights into the initiatives of governmental and private organizations concerning menopause, learned through seminar lectures, and fostered a sense of the potential for realizing a better society. Additionally, observing the exhibitions of Femtech and Femcare companies demonstrated that the product services of cutting-edge Femtech companies are also accelerating towards a more livable future.

Global Trends in the Menopause Sector
Efforts in this field are attracting attention not only in Japan but worldwide. The word “Menotech” has emerged alongside Femtech, and in the United States, the menopause online medical service Midi Health successfully raised 18.4 billion yen in funding. Various services specializing in menopause are also being created in Japan.
With data indicating that 1.1 billion people worldwide will enter menopause by 2025, it is projected that a market of 600 billion dollars (65 trillion yen) will be created (according to a 2020 report by Female Founders Fund).
Currently, the most prevalent businesses in the domestic Femtech industry are related to infertility treatment and fertility support. However, it is certain that product and service development in the menopause sector will lead the healthcare industry in the future.

THS Initiatives
THS has adopted the slogan “NEO Aroma Experience,” evolving its aroma business and embarking on the creation of new value.
“Menopause Katariba @ Bangkok” January 2024

In January 2024, THS held “Menopause Katariba @ Bangkok.” Inviting Ms. Hiromi Takikawa from Decor Craft Studio, who had experienced the challenging symptoms of menopause, as a guest, the event created a space to discuss menopause and share menopause countermeasures. This was the first event for THS to truly “talk about menopause.”
Ms. Takikawa mentioned receiving advice such as “Let’s exercise” at the hospital, but people suffering from menopause often cannot even exercise. This made us consider what appropriate advice might be.

Additionally, participants shared their experiences with supplements and hormone therapy, realizing how encouraging it is to hear others’ experiences.
THS gifted participants the essential oil blend “Balance,” which supports women. We hoped that having a self-care charm on hand would lighten their spirits even a little.
Beauty Anti-Aging & Menopause Seminar Held in November 2023

In November 2023, a beauty anti-aging and menopause seminar was held. The speaker was Hiromi, a former esthetician instructor. She spoke to the members about topics such as female hormones and tips for creating beautiful skin.
Learning about menopause, which we had only vaguely understood, through active input leads to resolving future anxieties. It is said that perimenopause begins in the 30s for some people.
We want girls in puberty who have started their periods to learn not only about menstruation but also about menopause.

THS Balance Lab is actively pursuing expansion into the Femtech and Femcare business sectors, with a focus on developing new products and services in the “Menotech” field. Tourism Authority of Thailand
Thai Herb Stories was listed on the official website of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on September 11, 2025, as a recommended Thai souvenir.

FM Osaka
In April 2025, Thai Herb Stories owner, Nana Tanaka, was a live guest on FM Osaka’s ‘Intense! Omari’s I Want to Go to Thailand’ radio program.

TEAM EXPO 2025

Nana Tanaka, the representative of Thai Herb Stories, presented the company’s business at the Osaka-Kansai Expo Official Program Start-up Boost Program Online Pitch Event held on December 10, 2024.
Gaysorn Amarin
As of June 2024, Thai Herb Stories joined “The Urban- Design Living”, 3rd floor of Gaysorn Amarin as a Thai originated aroma brand. The mall is popular with Louis Vuitton Cafe & Visionary Journey.






ICONSIAM
In May 2024, Thai Herb Stories is available to purchase at ICONCRAFT, 4th floor of ICONSIAM, one of the largest shopping malls in Bangkok, Thailand.

Thai Herb Stories is now available at 2nd floor of Cone No.9 Cafe in Ekkamai, Bangkok.



Beauty Shortlist 2024
Thai Herb Stories won the award of Editor’s Choice by Wellbeing Award in Beauty Shortlist Award 2024. This is a great achievement to step forward. (March 7, 2024)

New Luxury Awards 2024
Thai Herb Stories was nominated by New Luxury Awards 2024, by International Perfume Foundation(France) in Aug. 2024. This is the award to celebrate the 100% natural, organic scent by Students, Perfumers, Brands, Scented Places such as Hotels, Museums, Candles and Spas. Per IPF, More than 80 entries around the world and the largest number of entries ever. We are selected as “Nominated Scent Places” as a single Spa brand. Nomination List is here.

Thai Perfumers 2024
In Feb. 2024, Thai Herb Stories participated in Thai Perfumers Fair 2024, at Seacon Square Srinakharin. In this 5 days pop-up, we could meet Thai customers, while joined media interviews, etc. It was a remarkable achievement since this is the first non-Thai brand owner to join this fair.







Thai Royal Foundation, Nabha Foundation (under HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati) has been visited our booth to learn the social activities. We introduced our business concept to contribute Thai society and farmer communities. We use at least 1 Thai herb in every product, our recent visit to Thai herb farmers in Chonburi were well recognized by the manager.

You can purchase our products at YIM’s Style Massage, at Soi 31 Sukhumvit. Head Massage menus at YIM’s Style collaborate with our essential oils. Thai Herb Stories joined Thai Staff Training to understand How to Use the essential oils, to maximize customer experiences.






COSMO PROF CBE ASEAN
COSMO PROF CBE ASEAN 2023 was one of the largest cosmetic, beauty product exhibitions in ASEAN. Thai Herb Stories was exhibited at our manufacturer, Scent & Sense Laboratory’s booth. Visitors showed strong interest to our products, so we could see the potential of BtoB.




Pop up events in BKK
On Sep. 12, 2023, Thai Herb Stories joined a charity pop up event ” Rainbow School Charity Event Vol.3″ at Decor Craft Studio, Bangkok. This was the first event for official sale in Thailand. We donated partially from our profit and supported the local children.








On 13 Sep. 2023, Thai Herb Stories joined another pop up event ” Collabon BKK” at Salon hors temps. We were very happy to see visitors again who ask more products & came to see us repeatedly.

ICONSIAM
In May 2024, Thai Herb Stories joined ICONCRAFT, 4th floor of ICONSIAM, the largest riverside shopping mall in Bangkok. This is a great achievement to be a part of shop with Thailand originated souvenirs and products.





Thai Perfumers 2023, an exhibition at ICONSIAM in Bangkok, Thailand (July 6-9, 2023) . We met Thai customers & received a positive feedback. Started by this success, our journey became further exciting one.







Media
Thai Herb Stories was introduced by Thai Perfumers Official page. Our brand is the first foreign brand owner, exhibited at Thai Perfumers in its history.


Tokyo Big Sight
Influencer Expo 2023 at Tokyo Big Sight (July 2023). Nana Tanaka was on the main stage, introducing Thai Herb Stories at Tiger Funding, the famous Youtube Channel in Japan.
We could obtain “Willing to support” from all investors.









at this Expo, project members joined with Thai Costumes to attract audiences. Our products were tested by Japanese potential customers at a booth. We successfully obtained another positive feedback.
